What if you could have a beer with Jesus?
Talking with someone over a couple of beers is different from any other setting. Think about it. Meeting for coffee is for talking business or networking. There’s an agenda.
Meeting for beer isn’t for work. It’s about connection. Oh, sure. You might talk business. But you don’t usually go into a pub with an agenda.
Jesus as the CEO
I think we tend to talk to Jesus like our CEO or boss most of the time. We all have an agenda. You’re fooling yourself if you think you don’t. We meekly ask Jesus to look on our request with favor. Whether we meet Jesus for coffee or in the board room, we stick to the agenda. There are rules we have to follow!
Jesus at the pub
Sitting down over a couple of beers isn’t the same. Even if the CEO is part of the group, you expect the conversation to be casual. You don’t bring your agenda to the pub.
This space is dedicated to talking with Jesus without an agenda. We never forget he’s the CEO any more than you would with a group from work. But you talk about what’s in your heart and mind when you’re at the pub. You have freedom to be who you are. That’s how we want to talk with Jesus.
Beer with Jesus
The guys helping me with this project have run along side me as we chase this kind of relationship with Jesus. We don’t let each other play games. And we’re relentless to shovel out the religious bullsh&*t we’ve accumulated over the years.
One more thing, we don’t put up with inferior beer either. Jesus deserves the best. We’re not going to offer him Keystone light.
