Eric was going to church even before he was born. He was born into an evangelistic church, and he “asked Jesus into his heart” at age four. His parents were devoted Christians and made sure the family was in church, Sunday School and Bible studies.
Eric grew up with a desire to follow God and serve Him. A few years after Eric married is wife, Brenda, they prayed and told God they would do whatever He asked. They would even sell everything and become missionaries in Africa. Instead, God led them to be youth leaders in their church.
Eric spent years working to be the best Christian he could be. Then God started working to deliver him from religion.
He tells how God has worked to change him so he no longer uses “Christian” to describe himself. He says that “Heir of the Kingdom” is a better label. But it doesn’t roll off the tongue as easily.
